Happy Blog Day 2006! | Homo sarcasmus - the official blog of Heath L. Buckmaster

I just found out about Blog Day 2006 after reading Ricardo’s Blog.

Who knew?

I really know nothing more about it than what you can read on those links above, but I thought, we need something to celebrate right about now, so Happy Blog Day 2006 everyone!!!

Ok, so it’s not as exciting as a birthday, or the birth of a new child, or getting a new job, or things like that, but I’m embracing the technology millenium and celebrating like there’s no tomorrow.

So here are some things that I have found interesting over the past year, that you should find interesting as well…I have tried to limit my thoughts to 5, but that just won’t happen, so you’ll have to deal with however many appear below…

  • Setting our sights on the world of fashion, no list would be complete without Project Runway’s Tim Gunn, and his take on the latest fashion disasters and current show results. (Two more of note are Daniel V’s, and Nick V’s blogs)
  • When it comes to the blogs of my friends, it’s easier to just give you a list: Michael Waters, The Fine Print (Doug Hill), Gym Junkie (Rachelle), Visions of Cody and the travel-log The Bema Explorer, and Roque’s Woof of Steel. Oh, and even though David doesn’t think he has a blog…he does.
  • Up next, let’s geek for a moment. Two “anonymous” corporate blogs come to mind: Mini-Microsoft, and The Unofficial Intel Blog. If you haven’t heard of these already, they are external blogs by anonymous employees…very frank and blunt discussions, often commented on by other employees.
  • Here’s one that I think we should all visit before forwarding that email to family and friends about a little child suffering from a dreaded incurable and exotic disease who is in need of your get-well-cards and financial help. Urban Legends.
  • For sheer entertainment value and social commentary, I always turn to MSNBC Peculiar Postings. While not strictly a blog, it’s certainly a wealth of information on your fellow planetary inhabitants. (Unless you live on Pluto)
  • For those who are interested, Gay Rights Watch is a great site to stay up to date on current laws and legislation around the country. If this link offends you, don’t click it. Very simple.
  • Last but not least, the news and updates blog for my favourite computer game of ever, Neverwinter Nights.I tried to keep the list relatively short, but these are probably the spots I visit most often. Enjoy!
