Tim Gunn…Rock On! | Homo sarcasmus - the official blog of Heath L. Buckmaster

You know, one of the things I love most about Project Runway, is of course, Tim Gunn. And it’s not just because of the endless streams of “Make It Work”, and “Carry On.”

It has to be because you know that he really wants to help these designers out…he becomes a surrogate father to them for a short period of time, during filming…and he’s just so darn sassy :-). I mean, you really can’t get much better than a, dare I say, middle-aged, white haired, gay man, who absolutely owns who he is. I hope that I have the fortitude to get there some day.

In this last episode, we saw some tragedy beginning with the accusations made by our dear architect. I’ve always liked her work, but she’s getting a bit spiteful for me, and I hope she doesn’t turn into Wendy from season one. Stick to your own work and your own designs, and let’s see who comes out on top in the end.

Personally, I can’t wait to see everyone’s work. David and I watch this show religiously during the season, and often rush back from dinner on Wednesday nights just so we can see the latest episode. I recently purchased Season 1 and Season 2 on DVD, mostly because I want to see all the deleted scenes and outtakes (who wouldn’t want to relive the days of “Andre…..Andre……”)

Alas…next week, well, now this week, in two days as a matter of fact, is the Finale. I’m going to miss the show once it’s gone, and won’t have a filler until American Idol starts up again next year. Personally, I’m rooting for Michael or Jeff. They have always had the most well thought out, and frankly, unique designs, of anyone on the show.

Not to leave off a mention of the reunion show…It was fun to see the designers that we haven’t seen for months now…though I admit to having a hard time remembering who some of them were, or anything about their designs - it was the same way with American Idol, or So You Think You Can Dance…if you aren’t in the final four, no one remembers you.

The banter was interesting, though not nearly as much as with Wendy Pepper or Santino…the montages were fun - and we loved laughing at Tim using big words (which is part of his charm) that none of the designers understood. Don’t worry Tim, I was right there with you…but I don’t think half the American audience understood what you were saying :-).

Alas…I can’t wait for the finale this week…best of luck to everyone, and hopefully the little teaser of Jeff crying only means that he was elated to still be in the competition.
