Part of the joy in blogging is the comments that one receives after a post. I know that I, like many other bloggers, check to see just how many reads and comments we’re getting after an especially interesting (or possibly not so interesting) blog.
Sometimes a blog gets a LOT of readers. Sometimes a post gets not so much (especially if it’s written in a language that you might not understand). But what unites us all are the comments.
Comments are a great place to let the blogger know, “Hey! Someone is out here reading what you’ve written!“, or “Um, you’re a fool and I can’t believe you said that!“, or perhaps “Can I take you out for coffee some time.”
Whatever it is that you have to say, say it. And say it in a lovely comment. It’s fast, it’s easy, and you don’t have to know any HTML to leave one. You can just type into that little text box, and hit submit. Off it goes into the land of caching, then it appears. That way, the blogger knows that they are doing something right/wrong, or at least interesting.

I encourage each of you to spend just a moment commenting on a blog today. You can provide words of thanks, encouragement, constructive feedback, or even links back to your own blog if you’ve said something interesting.
The point is, there are so many blogs in the world that it’s hard for people to find the interesting things that are out there. Comments are a GREAT way to point people to things that they may never have seen before.
Blog on! And Comment on!
