Two snaps up, a twist, and a kiss

Posted by: heath In: Blogging| Technology

Yeah…Don is cool. He found a link that talked about a tool called Preview Anywhere, from snap. It’s a small pop up when you hover on a link that shows you a preview of the page you’re about to head to (except for sites within the same domain you are presently browsing).

For example you might want to go here, or maybe there. But you probably want to avoid here, and instead go here.

Enjoy!

UPDATE: I removed the code. I realized that can’t stand pop ups getting in front of my text. But hey, if it works for your site, go for it. The technology is still cool, it just doesn’t work for me.

yeah, i haven’t figured out if i like them or not, i also don’t like popups, or things that get in the way, so it’s very possible that i’ll be tossing it out shortly ;-)

It’s funny… people either love those things or hate them. Me, I hate them. I think they’re just as annoying as those “contextual” inline ads. Luckily, Snap gives you a way out, and if that doesn’t work/stops working, well, God gave us Firefox + Greasemonkey for a reason. :-D

Rather than be decisive and just keep it or kill it, I tinkered with the code so it doesn’t pop up where it’s really annoying, but still pops up where it’s either useful or, if you don’t think so, well, annoying.
