It’s time for those results you’ve been so impatiently waiting for my dear readers.
So here is the run-down from 28 March 2007.
Ryan continues to make me smile this season, as his wit has finally caught up with the rest of him. He is absolutely enjoying hosting this show, and it shows. He emerged from behind the oval-screen backdrop with a massive faux-hawk, and informed the audience that he’d been “Sanjaya’d”. Ryan, you are just pure yumminess this year. Younger than me and you make a million times more than I do. (sigh)
Recap time, and we were once again subjected to some of the painful performances from last night, but then we’re off to a break. Returning, we have another FORD commercial, this time, a western theme with “I fought the law“. I hate this song. It’s useless, and stupid, but holy hell Chris Richardson was hot as magma in that cowboy hat and the 5 o’clock shadow. Makes me want to buy a home, home on the range. (and thank you to Idol 2007 for agreeing with me on this one)
Time for the 3 lowest. First, Phil Stacey. Second, Haley Scarnato. Then Ryan tee’d off to a break and accidentally referred to them as “Phil and Stacey”. He fixed this when we came back from commercial, but then the camera was apparently pointed at the back of one of the pillars and we were treated to another flub.
Gwen Stefani then performed. This song was so totally candy cane for me. Dare I say bubble gum pop? And Akon (sp) added absolutely zero to the performance. Gwen is hot, this song is not. (Idol 2007 thought a bit differently, as usual :-))
Chris Sligh then joined Phil and Haley in the bottom three, and was eventually selected as the contestant leaving us tonight. Goodbye Chia-hair. Honestly, I will miss his humour - he was definitely one of the wittiest contestants that the show has had, and although I won’t miss his ballad voice, I think it’s a true shame that a Chinese Crested is still on the show and Sligh is leaving. But that’s just me.
Cheers and fanks.

I was glad Chris Sligh left, but then I started reading what he’s been saying since he got voted off, and he strikes me as a major sore loser. I especially loved the part where he said he listened to the Youtube of his performance twenty times Tuesday night and thought he nailed the song. Oh well…

Yeah, I read that he was basically waiting to get into the Top 10, because that comes with the big paycheck and the tour.
This season really is rubbing me the wrong way.
