    Hi Mikey, it’s like stumbleupon, or any other website voting/ranking system…. you can check out digg.com for more details. Basically it’s site popularity on the vastness of the internet.

    So - if you like the site, “digg” it, and the ranking of the site will improve, which sends more people here, which means more commenting, more discussion, more interesting stuff! :-)
