In just a few days my parents will be here. They are on another one of their ’round-the-country camping trips, with the midpoint destination being Sacramento to visit us.

They’ve already stopped off to visit my Dad’s brother and sister in Texas, and some friends in the San Diego area…now onward and upward to northern California.

And so of course David and I have been madly prepping the house and yard for having company for the next month. While they won’t be staying with us (they will be camping a short distance away), it’s always nice to have things tidy when you have out of town visitors.

It’s a shame they weren’t here a month ago because the flowers are starting to wilt in the recent heat, and some things that were in bloom are no longer in bloom…and I think every person out there likes to have their house presentable to the parents when they show up.

Many things are on the agenda while they are here: day trips to various spots in northern California including the wine country; an evening of Murder, Mystery, and Dinner aboard the Delta King; and who knows what else…I’m taking off a few days here and there so we have some extra time in the event we want to go away for the weekend.
