American Idol 2009 Top 11

Posted by: heath In: American Idol| Music| Television

Yee Haw! It’s country week on American Idol – one of my least favourites of the entire run….here’s the scoop…

  • Michael Sarver – Ain’t goin’ down till the sun comes up – Zero personality. Too many words to sing. Messy. Forgettable. Forgotten.
  • Allison Iraheta – Blame it on your heart – Sassy. Spunky. Too much red. Great stage presence.
  • Kris Allen – To make you feel my love – Hate ballads. Good performance. No presence. Very cute.
  • Lil Rounds – Independence Day – Love her, but not the song. Some off notes, but generally OK.
  • Adam Lambert – Ring of fire – Hot performance. Angst and sexual energy poured off the stage. Loved everything about it.
  • Scott MacIntyre – Wild Angels – Thank you stylist for taming his hair. Shaky vocals throughout.
  • Alexis Grace – Jolene – Love the song, hated the arrangement. Words got muddled. Falsetto was painful.
  • Danny Gokey – Jesus take the wheel – Hate the coat. Hate the song. Zero performance. Over him.
  • Anoop Desai – You’re always on my mind – Hate ballads. Good solid vocals. Go NC.
  • Megan Joy – I go walking after midnight – Sang with the flu. Looked beautiful. Rough vocals at times.
  • Matt Giraud – So small – Great look. Good vocals. Endearing personality. Nice job.

RESULTS: Alexis is out. The judges chose not to save her after another dismal performance of Jolene. That’s one Dolly won’t be proud of. Sorry Alexis, I had high hopes for your new “dirty” side, but maybe that’s just not you but what the judges wanted you to be. Top 11 isn’t bad though, you just won’t be leaving your little one to go on tour…but I’m sure you’ll get plenty more air time before it’s all said and done.

Until next week America. Buckmaster out.

Who do you want to see eliminated next week?

Danny. But that won’t happen for a few more weeks probably.

If not him, probably Michael Sarver.

Haha I like Danny. I know you are over him but you have to admit he has some talent. I agree with Michael. I think he should go next.

I will admit that the word “some” does apply.

“Blame it on your heart”?

How about someone singing Milli Vanilli’s “Blame It On the Rain”? Now THAT would get some major raves.
