Because of the much anticipated “Judges Save” last week, Matt Giraud sticks around another week and we are still looking at (and listening to) the Top 7. This week, it’s disco, and here’s the run-down.
- Lil – I’m Every Woman – Pitchy in spots, barely sang anything really just the chorus over and over again. Judges didn’t like it either, and she always wants to have a conversation about.
- Kris – She Works Hard For the Money – Love his take on the song, interesting arrangement, good guitar work, actually made it a song that a guy could credibly sing.
- Danny – September - Horrible moves, shaky voice, what was with the yeast infection jeans and the wedding band? Learn the words Danny and stop yelling.
- Allison – Hot Stuff – Wow she looks great, loved the arrangement, loved the stage presence, loved the mobile stairs entrance, and she was 6′10″ in those heels!
- Adam – If I Can’t Have You – Wow that is some tall hair. Brilliant suit, amazing control with his voice, such versatility in what he can do. I am so impressed.
- Matt – Stayin’ Alive – Very groovalicious, 1000% better than Danny, good movement, good look, but it’s probably not enough to keep him around. Judges very mixed on their “saved” one.
- Anoop – Dim All The Lights – This arrangement was way too slow at the beginning, and even when it got going it wasn’t disco enough for me. Nothing wrong with the vocals, but nothing that I’m going to remember.
Out this week: I’m predicting Lil and Anoop or Lil and Matt. But wouldn’t it be nice if it was Gokey? We’ll see…
** UPDATE ** I was right. Lil and Anoop were voted off this week – no big surprise and the only one I’m sad to see go is Anoop, because I liked the changes going on with him.
See you all next week for the Top 5 !!
