Ok America, it’s time to get your voting fingers ready, the Top 24 have been identified (they begin performances next week) and here they are…
- David Hernandez
- Carly Smithson
- David Cook
Amanda Overmyer*- David Archuleta*
- Kristy Lee Cook
- Brooke White
- Danny Noriega
- Jason Castro
- Asia’h Epperson
- Colton Berry
- Luke Menard
- Alexandrea Lushington
- Ramiele Malubay
Michael Johns*- Syesha Mercado
- Robbie Carrico
- Garrett Haley
- Kady Malloy
- Chikezie Eze
- Amy Davis
- Alaina Whitaker
- Jason Yeager
- Joanne Borgella
But the big shockers of the night were that Josiah Leming didn’t make it (he’s the one who lives in his car), and Simon actually told Kyle Ensley that he thought he should have gotten through. I think Simon was almost pissed off about the decision. (You can read the full coverage at msnbc.com)
And there you have it America…after the “brutal cuts” and “good lookin out dawg” and about 50 promo’s for the movie Jumper, we now know who is on the show…so, who are you planning to vote for?
I’ll be voting for the stars, er asterisks. Who will you vote for next week?

I have to say I was shocked about Josiah. They loved him all the way to the last song.
I have no idea who I’m voting for yet… although I’m very fond of Michael Johns. I’m just not good of keeping track of the names until they narrow it down from Hollywood.

Josiah has a HUGE following on myspace and facebook, and is apparently still touring around the country.
He also has several songs you can listen to online and they are pretty good - I have a feeling he’s going to have a better career than most of the semi-finalists ever will.
I mean, these kids that get kicked off and say things like “I don’t know what I’m going to do now…my life is over…where do I go from here…” are just pathetic to me. If you want to make it happen then make it happen people! American Idol is not the ultimate answer! It’s just ONE way to get visibility….if you think your life is over because you didn’t make it onto the show then you’ve got bigger problems to deal with first.
Anyway - I’m also disappointed he didn’t make it, and I hope he has a long career ahead of him.

Hi folks
Its interesting to read some of the comments about American Idol stuff from you guys across the pond.
Watching, obviously our own, UK based, show i was just wondering what you all thought of our last winner Leona Lewis.
Personally one of the strongest female voices i have heard in a long time.
The strength of the American and British music machines behind her tell me that she will go far but was interested in your thoughts.
My wife thinks Carly has a strong chance so far……Havent caught too much of the proggram myself as i am always out when its on.
Thanks for your time anyway.
Cheers

Nik - thanks for stopping by! I have to say that I’ve never seen Pop Idol, and never heard of Leona Lewis…
I guess we’re limited as to what we can get on BBC America, which I adore.
So if it’s not Graham Norton, Little Britain, Catherine Tate, or reruns of fabulous shows like Are You Being Served and Keeping Up Appearances, I haven’t seen it.
Are the american idol winners popular across the pond as well? Is country music big there - if so you’ve probably got Carrie Underwood all over the place.
Cheers!
